Born in Moscow, a graduate from The Russian Academy of Music Gnesinikh (Professor N. Schilnikova), Natalya Wilson is a promising young soprano. She combines a beautifully coloured and sparkly voice with a full range, with the communicative skill of a stage actress. Her repertoire ranges from baroque music over belcanto masterpieces to 20th century and contemporary compositions.
During her studies at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles (Professor Claudine Arnaud) where she performed Vincenette in their production of Gounoud’s “Mirelle”, the promising student was already engaged by The Prokoffiev Opera Company (supported by Irina Arkhipova’s Foundation, Moscow): Mademoiselle Silberklang “Der Schauspieldirektor” by Mozart; Lucy: “The Telephone” by Menotti; Liudmila: “Ruslan and Liudmila” by Glinka. The role with which she graduated from The Russian Academy of Music Gnesinikh was Suzanne (“Le nozze di Figaro”, Mozart). She also took part in numerous chamber and opera recitals where she performed melodies with different origins, arias and scenes from a large number of operas together with leading soloists of the main Russian opera companies like The Bolshoi, Novaya Opera etc.). Meanwhile, she participated in the cinematic masterpiece “The Barber of Siberia” by Nikita Mikhalkov (un-credited role) and has also done acting work in TV commercials.
The young soprano never misses the opportunity to extend her repertoire and improve her vocal and performing skills all around the world: in Russia where she is currently working in The Bolshoi with prof. V. Borisov; in Europe and the USA; attending master classes of the Greats who give her their highest references (Vladimir Chernov, Lise Rollan, Elizaveta Novikova, Lina Doby, Juliana Gondek, Boris Pokrovsky). She is very fond of classical literature, loves to learn new skills (dancing, fitness, modelling) and languages (German and Italian). She is fluent in English, speaks good French and has a Master’s degree in the history of Arts (Moscow state Humanitarian University).
She still remains a leading soloist of the Prokoffiev Opera and appears in recitals in Russia and Europe.
